Gate To Ukraine is a media aid project designated to authentically imparting the consequences of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. This way we can create genuine pictures showing the reality of war to raise awareness for the current situation of the Ukrainian people. Our goal is to win the hearts of EU citizens to gather support and donations for the impacted regions.
For one thing we can achieve broad coverage in linear media with the help of media houses. For another thing new media can offer an even wider range of possibilities and higher security against manipulation. Therefore immersive reporting through 360° photos and videos should be used to fight propaganda or fake news and to gain empathy in viewers.
Our AR portal is natively designed for the social platforms Instagram and Facebook, so that it can be used there to draw attention to the war in Ukraine.
We would like to point out in advance that our portal takes you into a 360° environment of Ukraine (excluding buildings), showing it after Russia’s attack, to show the reality of the war.
This can be triggering for people with traumatic experiences.
You can get an impression of our AR-Gate to Ukraine yourself via the links or QR codes below. We would like to point out that the portal only works with mobile devices.

In order to be able to implement Gate to Ukraine, 360° footage from Ukraine is essential. If you are in Ukraine right now, you can help. The footage can be taken with a smartphone.
You are not in Ukraine and want to help the people? Donations are direly needed and best directed to organisations such as the ones provided further down in our infobox.
Please support this project by increasing visibility and spreading awareness about the current situation in Ukraine. You can share Gate to Ukraine on your social media channels.
First, download and install the Google Street View App, whether you use iOS or Android.
Once you’re on the start screen of the app, click on the camera icon and select the option camera. Google Street View will guide you through the process. For the photos to turn out useable, it is important for you to stay in the exact same spot and as still as possible while following the dots in the app. Your camera will automatically take the photos after the first initiation by you when you move your lens to the next dot. 360 degrees also means every direction, so keep that in mind.
Once you got all the dots, press the white button in the middle of your screen. The app will notify you as soon as it’s uploaded the finished file and you can then send it to us.
